Prohibited Items Policy

1. Safety Equipment & Gear

❌ NEVER allowed due to safety regulations and liability concerns:

• Car seats (infant seats, convertible seats, boosters) — impossible to verify crash history
• Cribs, bassinets, and play yards — structural safety cannot be guaranteed
• Strollers and carriers — mechanical safety and recall risk
• High chairs and feeding seats — structural integrity concerns
• Baby gates and safety barriers — installation and failure risk
• Bike helmets and protective gear — safety compromised after impact
• Sleep positioners and crib bumpers — CPSC warnings for suffocation risk

2. Recalled Items

Any item subject to a CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) recall or safety warning, including:

• Clothing with lead in zippers or snaps
• Items with choking hazards (loose buttons, small embellishments)
• Garments that fail flammability standards
• Products with documented safety defects

3. Hard Accessories & Toys

HushaBuy is for soft goods only:

• Toys, teethers, pacifiers
• Bottles, sippy cups, feeding utensils
• Hair accessories with hard clips or metal parts
• Jewelry (necklaces, bracelets that could pose choking/strangulation risk)
• Sunglasses or eyewear

4. Health & Hygiene Items

Items that contact skin or bodily fluids:

• Diapers (cloth or disposable)
• Breast pumps and nursing equipment
• Bottles and nipples (even unused)
• Underwear and training pants
• Teething necklaces
• Humidifiers, thermometers, or medical devices

5. Counterfeit & Unauthorized Items

• Counterfeit clothing: Fake designer or brand-name items (e.g., fake Gucci baby clothes, counterfeit Disney merchandise)
• Unlicensed reproductions: Items using copyrighted characters or logos without authorization
• Items with removed/altered tags: Cutting out brand tags to misrepresent authenticity

Authentic branded items with original tags are encouraged! We just prohibit fakes and counterfeits.

6. Unsafe or Damaged Items

• Items with broken zippers, missing buttons, or compromised structure
• Clothing with excessive stains that suggest unsanitary condition
• Items with frayed fabric that could unravel and pose choking risk
• Shoes with worn-through soles or separated seams
• Items with strong odors (smoke, mildew, chemicals)

Light wear and minor stains are OK if disclosed! Just no safety hazards.

7. Prohibited Photo Content

To protect children's privacy and safety:

• Children's faces: Photos showing children's identifiable faces, distinguishing features, or full bodies
• Identifying information: Photos with visible names, addresses, schools, or location markers
• Inappropriate imagery: Any content that sexualizes children or violates their dignity

✅ Best practice: Photograph items flat lay, on a hanger, or on a mannequin. If your child models an item, crop to show only the clothing (chest-down for shirts, legs-only for pants, etc.) without showing their face or identifying features.

8. Other Prohibited Items

• Adult clothing (HushaBuy is newborn-5T only)
• Costumes with masks or accessories that cover airways
• Handmade items without proper safety testing or labeling
• Items with religious or political slogans that may cause offense
• Swimwear or clothing intended to be worn without a diaper (for hygiene)
• Electronics, books, furniture, or non-clothing items
